URBAN RENEWAL

An old brick factory is renewed not by erasing its past, but by aligning time, material, and memory with a new green structure. A linear landscape spine connects a sequence of small plazas, each echoing fragments of the factory’s life. Brick, space, and history are reassembled—transforming industrial ground into a living cultural landscape.

This project is located in Tianjin, China—all rendered images from HASSELL.

The factory was repurposed with a different function.

WATER TREATMENT PARK

The former water treatment facility in Shenzhen is reimagined as a dynamic urban sports park and cultural landscape. The design draws inspiration from the fluid geometry of ocean waves, translating this concept into a system of pathways, terraces, and landforms that shape the site.

Existing infrastructure is transformed into public assets, with water basins becoming recreational features and open green fields supporting active and social programs. The interplay of levels and circulation creates a layered spatial experience, allowing movement, gathering, and performance to coexist within a cohesive urban framework.

This renewal project redefines obsolete infrastructure into a vibrant civic destination—where landscape, movement, and culture are seamlessly integrated.

Brainstorm ideas throughout the design process.

This project was completed in partnership with HASSELL for Shenzhen City after winning a competition from the city.
