MASTER PLANNING

The concept originates from the idea of the “cell,” drawing from the existing team’s urban data to generate a new narrative framework for the design. Rather than following a predictable, conventional layout, the project reinterprets planning logic through a more imaginative and organic formation.

The “cell” becomes a generative unit—structuring spatial relationships between blocks, landscape, and water systems—while allowing flexibility, variation, and layered connectivity. This approach transforms data into a living urban fabric, creating a distinctive identity that moves beyond standard planning toward a more dynamic, adaptive, and experiential environment.

I had the privilege of working with the Hassell planning team and collaborating on the design concept and scheme. We won the competition.

Haining Office Park Master Plan

The landscape design responds to the client’s vision for a university-affiliated technology center—an environment defined by innovation, research, and forward-thinking development. Inspired by Haining’s rapidly emerging industrial future, the design translates this momentum into a spatial language of clarity, connectivity, and growth.

Structured open spaces, clean geometries, and integrated green systems reflect the dynamic relationship between academia and industry.

Circulation networks and gathering areas are designed to catalyze exchange—encouraging interaction, creativity, and collaboration among students, researchers, and professionals. The landscape becomes not only a setting but an active framework that supports Haining’s trajectory toward becoming a hub of technological advancement and prosperous future industries.
